Alex Zinoviev (born May 30, 1999, Ukraine) is a contemporary Ukrainian artist working across mural painting, fine art, and original calligraphy. He is currently based in Los Angeles, California.

Raised in a creative family, Zinoviev developed a passion for art from an early age under the influence of his father, a professional artist who played a significant role in shaping his artistic vision.

He received a classical art education, graduating with a specialization in Painting and Floral Design before earning a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the Department of Design at Zaporizhzhia National University.

Combining academic training with contemporary design thinking, Zinoviev creates expressive works that bridge traditional craftsmanship with the energy of contemporary visual culture. His practice continues to evolve through experimentation with scale, materials, and calligraphic symbolism, resulting in a distinctive visual language that is both dynamic and deeply personal.

Artist Statement

For more than a decade, I have been developing my own artistic language through **Calligraffiti**—a fusion of calligraphy, painting, graphic design, and urban aesthetics. For me, letters are more than symbols; they are visual forms that carry rhythm, emotion, and energy beyond the meaning of words.

My practice spans murals, canvas painting, street art, and body art, allowing me to explore how calligraphic gestures transform different surfaces and environments. I am drawn to the expressive power of the line—its ability to communicate movement, emotion, and human connection through a universal visual language.

Rooted in classical artistic training and shaped by contemporary design, my work balances structure with spontaneity. I seek to create compositions that invite viewers to experience art intuitively, where hidden messages, layered symbols, and dynamic forms reveal themselves over time.

Whether on a city wall, a canvas, or the human body, my goal is to create immersive works that blur the boundaries between fine art and urban culture, transforming spaces into experiences and writing into emotion.
