Crown

This painting is about my journey in the world of beauty pageants — about the pursuit of a crown. In this search, I came to realize that I had found the crown — the most sacred one in this world — the Crown of Thorns.

My encounter with it in Notre-Dame de Paris deeply influenced me.

The small details in the work symbolise crowns and thorns, referring to the history of the Crown of Thorns, whose spikes were separated and over time dispersed among churches around the world.
