Eduard Fleminskiy

Biography

I am the artist Eduard Fleminskiy (Sergey Belov), born in Moscow. I have been professionally engaged in painting for over 35 years. In the mid-1990s, I was the director of the “Vasilchikov House” Art Gallery in central Moscow, which unofficially became known as one of the city’s informal cultural centers. In 1998, I joined the Professional Creative Union of Artists of Russia and UNESCO, and began an active exhibition career. I have held numerous solo and group exhibitions. Since 2012, I have been living in Alanya, Turkey. I am also the author of an original painting teaching method for children and adults. At the beginning of my artistic journey, I developed the traditions of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Over time, through painting, I began to explore the subconscious in a practical way. This eventually led me to the discovery that color patches and their combinations are the key to the “secret door” of the subconscious. I became deeply interested in the art of ancient civilizations, the mystical perception of the world and humanity, and the search for artistic expression through primitivism. The next stage of my work was the creation of large expressive portraits. This period brought me wide recognition and inspired many imitators. Today, all these stages have merged into a dynamic style that I continue to develop. Color remains primary for me: through it, I convey emotions and define the inner pulse of the painting. Simplicity and expressiveness are essential to my work. To achieve this, I turn to abstraction, expression, decorative elements, and primitivism. I value spontaneity in the creative process — it gives rise to accidents and living chaos, which gradually transform into a new harmony and create the intrigue of a future reality. My paintings are held in private collections in Russia, Turkey, the United States, Canada, England, France, Austria, Italy, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Finland, Sweden, Israel, Iraq, China, Japan, Australia, and many other countries.
